Nightingales have been learning about fractions this week. We went outside in the playground and shared 4 children between 4 circles. The children knew that this meant 1 circle had one quarter of 4 children and 3 circles had three quarters of children. Then we tried sharing 8 children between the circles and 12 children. Each time the children could identify 1/4 and 3/4. They also noticed that 2/4 is the same as 1/2!
