This week, Reception have been learning the story of ‘The Little Red Hen’.
The children really enjoyed the story and were able to join in on repeated parts of the story, we discussed that it was unkind for the animals not to help the Little Red Hen bake the bread. We decided that we were going to work as a team and bake our own loaves of bread, we watched a video about how bread was made, looked at a recipe, got the ingredients and equipment we needed and we were off! We took turns mixing and kneading the bread until it was the right consistency. We loved tasting our bread with jam and butter, we were so proud of ourselves!
