We have introduced and explored a new traditional take this week, ‘The Gingerbread Man’.
The children used their thinking skills to create a bridge for the gingerbread man to cross the river instead of being eaten by the fox. We were so impressed with their ability to listen to each other and incorporate other people’s opinions and ideas.
We also used a recipe to bake our very own gingerbread men, we looked at the ingredients we needed, measured them out, made a dough and cut our own gingerbread man out and finally put it on the baking tray. We were very relieved that our gingerbread men didn’t run away like in the story. We loved tasting the gingerbread men when they came out of the oven, the children were very proud of their baking skills… Well done Reception!
