Today Nightingales climbed on a coach and travelled to Washington Wetlands for a day out. As it was the first full day visit out of school they were very excited!
We had a tour around the site with June who told the children lots of information about the wetland birds and the wildlife. We visited a hide where we saw a bullfinch, blue-tits and a woodpecker! We visited the flamingos and saw families of birds with ducklings. After that it was time for breaktime on the equipment. After a visit to the otters to watch their feeding time it was time for the children to be fed. We sat outside and enjoyed a picnic.
Our afternoon was spent pond dipping and learning about the creatures at the centre. The children were able to hold lots of artefacts and had the chance to ask lots of questions.
We had a fabulous day out and arrived back at school with rosy cheeks and big smiles!
