This week, UKS2 have been completing a DT project which involved making a pizza. It all started off with discussing and conducting research on a range of different styled pizzas. For example, stone baked, deep pan, sub, stuffed crust etc. Children conducted s sensory analysis on these, deciding what they liked/disliked about each one. We then had to create some prototypes for our pizzas to decide on a range of toppings. Classes got to chopping, slicing, tearing and layering different pizza toppings and tasting two different versions to decide on a final product. Finally, children then had to design their final ideas and got to creating the pizzas. Everyone had a chance to get practical, which was great!
After being cooked, children then got to taste their own pizzas. We heard lots of ‘yum’s’ and ‘mmm’s’ which we think was a good sign of a successful pizza! Well done everyone! Top chefs!
