Make A CEOP Report

Another busy week!

This week we have focused on different forms of transport, in particular, boats. We read Mr Gumpy’s Outing by John Burningham and  discussed how Mr Gumpy moves his boat by using a steering pole as opposed to using oars. We watched a video of people using oars in a rowing boat and sang Row, row, row your boat during our outdoor Friday session while sitting in a boat that we built from the large construction equipment. Some of us learned how to ask questions in phonics with the help of News Ted. During our maths sessions we used some Numicon shapes and some 2D shapes to make boats. We made pirate ships and sailing ships on the computer. While eating an apple during snack time, one of the children asked where apples came from so we watched the story, How do apples grow? We also walked to our ‘top field’ to have a look at some apple trees. We also made our own play dough and and participated in Squiggle While You Wiggle. We have worked really hard making some fantastic Father’s Day/special person cards this week and talked about why we think our dad’s/special people are special to us.
