This week we have continued to focus on activities which link to the story, Mr Gumpy’s Outing. We created some excellent drawings of Mr Gumpy in his boat and some of the other characters from the story too. We attached a steering pole to our drawings which was represented by a lolly stick or straw. In maths we used 2D and 3D shapes to represent different types of boats. We made rowing boats (like Mr Gumpy’s), ferries, sailing ships and speed boats. In phonics we continued to develop asking questions during news sessions. We made more boat/ship pictures on the computer and completed some counting ICT games. During our outdoor session we became scientists and experimented with different materials in the water trays to see which ones would float and sink. We also made some playdough and participated in Squiggle While You Wiggle outdoors. We had a super Sports Day on Thursday and proudly received a certificate for taking part.
