Keith the Cat and so much more!

We have had an extremely busy week! We started to focus on the story, Keith the Cat with his Magic Hat and made our own version of the book by drawing illustrations and using images from the book. Some bees feature within the story of Keith the Cat and we were lucky enough to discover a bee in our nursery garden which didn’t appear to be very well. We were fascinated by the bee and observed it for quite some time using a magnifying glass. We gave the bee a solution of sugar and water and we were delighted when we saw the bee’s toung lap the sugary solution up and perk up a little! In maths we matched ice cream themed Numicon shapes to the corresponding amount of sprinkles on some images of ice cream. In phonics we continued to sound out words and focus on initial sounds. We also produced some ice cream themed pictures on the computer.

On Wednesday we came to nursery dressed in French themed/coloured clothing and participated in World Games Day. We learned some facts about France and took part in some games outdoors. We all made a French flag which we waved during a whole school parade. On Thursday we had fun in nursery during Break the Rules Day by not wearing our uniform, having juice in our water bottle and bringing in a chocolaty treat to eat during snack time. On Friday we took part in Soccer Aid by wearing football/sports clothing and practicing our football skills. We also learned about the valuable work that Soccer Aid raises money for.
