Today year 5 all went to the Beamish museum for a day linked to carbon footprint and climate change. Children have been able to visit the different time periods and take a survey of how the different people used to live. They compared the lives of people in the 1800’s and the 1950’s. We found out through our survey that the 1950’s had the higher carbon footprint! The classes then had a chance to do their bit to help climate change by planting a range of trees-some of these will grow for another 100 years!
