Christmas is Coming!

We have had another super busy week in nursery preparing for Christmas! We completed our snowmen Christmas cards which not only look fantastic they were great fun to make and incorporated counting, creativity, communication skills, social skills, self-help skills and writing skills. One of our favourite parts was when we chose a friend to paint one of our feet so that we could make a footprint to represent the snowman’s body. We made some paper chains to decorate our nursery and as we made them we used mathematical language like, height and length as we compared the paper chains to how tall we are. Some of us made paper chains that were taller that us! For ICT we used Webcam on PurpleMash to produce some Christmas themed photographs of ourselves. We chose to look like Santa, an elf or a snowman and we found them very funny! For literacy and a whole school initiative called Book Swap, we shared lots of Christmas themed books with each other both independently and with adults. We worked on our problem solving skills and fine manipulative skills as we wrapped up our beautiful calendars to give as a gift for our families which we are looking forward to taking home next week.
