Yesterday, the children in years 3 and 4 went on a trip to The Baltic. We began the day by walking over the millennium bridge. We then headed inside where the three classes participated in different activities. The children were given a guided tour of the Land of Friends exhibition by Carolina Caycedo. They asked lots of amazing questions and explored how the different pieces of art made them feel and what it made them think of. The children also explored other exhibitions and enjoyed seeing the range of artwork displayed, including sculptures, photographs, prints, writing, speaking and paintings. During the day the children were able to move between the different floors of The Baltic using the glass lifts, which they loved! The children used The Baltic’s viewing deck to complete some observational drawings of the bridges and other landmarks they could see. The children named the different bridges they could see and the features on them. The children’s behaviour throughout the day was fantastic and they had an amazing day. Take a look at some photographs of each class below.
