KS1 look at identifying and naming materials

This week in Science KS1 have been looking at different materials and their names. They discussed every day materials of things around the classroom, what they use at home and what they were wearing. They then discussed as a class silk, ice, stone, paint, sponge, paper, plastic, wood, fur, glass, feather, sand, wool, concrete, metal and what objects were made from each material. In groups they worked and sorting different materials and matching them to their correct name.

Article 17: You have the right to get information that is important to your well-being, from radio, newspaper, books, computers and other sources. Adults should make sure that the information you are getting is not harmful, and help you find and understand the information you need.

Article 24: You have the right to the best health care possible, safe water to drink, nutritious food, a clean and safe environment, and information to help you stay well.
