The children in years three and four have been learning about teeth in science. They began by learning about the different types of teeth we have and their functions. The children used this knowledge to create a model mouth. The children then conducted a science investigation learning about the importance of keeping our teeth healthy. The children used an egg to replicate a tooth and left them in containers filled with different drinks. The children found that fizzy pop and coffee stained the egg while vinegar caused the shell to disintegrate. They found that the eggs covered in toothpaste were protected and did not stain. All of the children have been super engaged in their learning!
