This half term, years 5 and 6 have been learning about the Ancient Maya. We have learned about lots of different aspects of this fascinating civilisation, understanding the chronology of the Maya and comparing it to other historical civilisations who were alive at the same time, as well as learning about the gods and conducting an enquiry to help us to understand what made the Maya a successful civilisation. We carried out research, then worked in groups to put together presentations and shared our findings with the class. Finally, we will become historians and investigate the different theories as to what caused the downfall of the Ancient Maya civilisation. We have really enjoyed this history topic and are very proud of the work we have produced.
