This week, Reception children have been learning how to count in 2’s, and thinking of reasons why we would need to count in 2’s. We looked at pairing socks and wellies together and worked out how many pairs before counting how many individual. The children became confident very quickly at understanding the concept of a pair and were able to count accurately to find out the total number of socks or wellies.
Next week, the children will explore more problem solving counting in 2’s.
