Tiny Crab is a Tidy Crab

This week in nursery we have focussed on the story, Tiny Crab is a Tidy Crab. The story is about a crab who lives on a beach and it explores how he feels when his friends visit and don’t tidy up after themselves. This follows on from our science week and caring for the environment. We talked about how the characters in the story didn’t work as a team at first and that when we work together in nursery to tidy our classroom it doesn’t take us very long and our classroom looks nice afterwards. Some of us drew beautiful drawings of items and characters from the story using either felt pens, pastels or coloured pencils. During our maths session we focussed on number recognition and searched for numbers in the sand pit outside. We pretended that we were Tiny crab tidying up his beach. During our outdoor Friday session we created a digging area next to our mud kitchen. The ground was really hard due to the dry weather we have had lately so we added water to soften it before digging. We worked very hard using spades, trowels and forks to dig up the grass. We put the grass in the compost bin when we had finished.
