Some of the School Council members from Windy Nook visited Gateshead Food Bank, Team Valley. They gathered together the food and household items, that have been generously donated by our school community, and travelled to the warehouse.
On arrival, we were greeted by food bank volunteers. After all the bags were weighed, we learned that we had collected a staggering 218.44kg of items! The children had prepared lots of questions which the volunteers answered before giving the children a guided tour of the warehouse.
We’d like to thank Gateshead Food Bank for their hospitality and, of course, to all the people who kindly donated to the this worthy cause.
