This week in LKS2, we were lucky enough to have Kirtida Richardson from the ISKON Hindu temple in Newcastle come to visit us. She delivered a fantastic workshop giving us an insight into the religion of Hinduism and allowing us to explore her beliefs further.
Kirtida talked to us about Diwali and told us the story of Rama and Sita. Some of us were even lucky enough to get dressed up as some of the characters!
After this, she taught us the dandia rasa dance, showed us her Indian mridanga drum, and let us wear bhindis on our heads.
We had so much fun and are looking forward to welcoming Kirtida back to Windy Nook in the future!
