A very busy week in Nursery!

We have made links to most of the areas of the curriculum in nursery this week during our Mother’s Day activities. We made a gift bag for our mams consisting of home made compost, a plant pot, and a ‘special’ seed which we carefully wrapped up and secured with a pipe cleaner. We are looking forward to helping our mams plant the seed and care for it. Staff are looking forward to hearing/seeing updates of any growth that occurs! As we prepared our gift bags we counted how many scoops of compost we used as we put it into a bag. We also made links to Science Week which commences today, discussing the fact that some of us have been collecting and adding compostable materials for that last year and putting it in our compost bin and how it has now decomposed and can now be now used. We completed our Mother’s Day cards. We folded a piece of card and attached the beautiful daffodil drawings that we made last week to the front of the card. We then glued a greeting insert into the inside of our card and wrote on our name. During our maths sessions we made repeating patterns using our voices, bodies and instruments. We participated in our weekly Squiggle While You Wiggle session. We produced some beautiful flower and plant pictures using the interactive white board. On Thursday we enjoyed lots of stories for World Book Day. WHS kindly donated some books for us to keep and take home which our Special Helpers collected for us from the other end of our school. On Friday we practiced football skills for Let Girls Play Day. We assembled a brand new football goal during the morning and then practised scoring goals in it during the afternoon.
