As mentioned in previous posts, during our growing topic we accidently grew some tomato plants by using our ‘homemade’ compost which had had decomposing tomatoes within it! If you would like to purchase a tomato plant you can do so from Monday 15th July. There will be a donation box outside of nursery and all of the tomato plants will be there for you to choose from. Any money raised will fund future resources for nursery. Thank you in advance!
This week in nursery, we have continued to add to our Book of Wonder. We found two types of ladybirds. One was a common red ladybird with black spots and the other was black with red spots which we found out is called a Harlequin ladybird. Some of us participated in Squiggle While You Wiggle producing some fantastic spiral shapes. In maths we continued to focus on adding and subtracting using bears and our imaginations to help us. On Thursday we had a visit from Harry the Science Boffin. We watched him perform some scientific experiments using balloons, chemicals and a little fire! It was very exciting to watch and made us laugh in parts too! On Friday we participated in Break the Rules Day. We loved coming to nursery wearing different clothes and costumes as well as having juice in our water bottles as opposed to water! We also enjoyed going for a ‘break the rules’ walk. We walked backwards, made up funny walking styles and runs and we waved to some of the children in various classrooms around school!
