We have had a great week in nursery. Our new children appear happy and are very much embracing nursery life which is wonderful. We have ventured into the hall for the first time this week and participated in some singing and dancing sessions. We all had a really good attempt at taking off and putting back on our shoes and socks which was very impressive. We started making ‘Cauliflower Cards’ in preparation for Christmas. We made a white handprint to represent the head and beard of Santa Claus and attached googly eyes and a hat as well as painting on his facial features. We worked with Mr Gibson, our sports coach and did some small group catching and throwing activities which the children absolutely loved! We have participated in some fantastic counting during snack time by counting how many children are in each group and matching the corresponding amount of cups to the children. We have also shared some stories at snack time and joined in with rhymes and songs. Our song of the week this week was, If You are Happy and You Know it. On Friday we had a great time assessing all of our messy areas outdoors. This was the first time we all put on a set of waterproofs and the adults were really impressed with our self help skills.
