This question has been a driver for lots of discussion about types of science investigation, the people who do science, where we find science and what ‘doing science’ involves. The children curated their own scientific investigation into water absorption: “What makes water walk?”
We tested how well different materials soaked up water. The Tulips had to decide how to make it a fair test and even were in control of the timings.
Unsurprisingly, the bathroom sponge proved to be great at taking on water!
