This week we have continued to explore Autumn as a topic. We have produced some Autumn leaf pictures on the interactive white board and played an Autumn themed puzzle game on the computer. We have continued to sweep and rake leaves up from our yard and garden and transfer them into our compost bins. To strengthen our hands and wrists which will help us become accomplished writers in the future we have been using a mallet to hit golf tees into pumpkins. During our Friday outdoor session we explored the inside of the pumpkins and counted some of the seeds that we found. We plan to roast and season the seeds next week and eat them during snack time. Also this week, we have been talking about where we like to play and spend time in nursery. The adults took some photographs of us participating in our favourite activities and we produced some fabulous ‘writing’ about it which has been displayed in nursery. During our maths sessions we worked on our counting skills by performing actions like marching, kicking and punching while chanting numbers. Also this week, half of us participated in Squiggle While You Wiggle and the other half did Playdough Disco.
