This week we have continued to help and welcome our new pupils. We have participated in group sessions in the hall to help us get to know each other which we all enjoyed, especially our new children. One of these sessions included a drumming session to celebrate La Tamborrada which is a Spanish drumming festival and occurs in San Sebastian. We used our imaginations to pretend we were taking part in the festival and marched around the hall while banging our drums. We also made Basque flags by carefully colouring in a template using green and red. As one of our focusses is space this half term we had a space day on Friday.  Jamie, who is a space tracker visited our nursery and taught us facts about space to enhance our space topic. He taught the names of the planets in the solar system, names of rockets and the parts of rockets. Some of us made fabulous rocket models and drew pictures of the planets. He told us a little about his job as a space tracker and what a satellite is. He also showed us how to use a telescope. During snack time we read space themed books. We had a fabulous day and we are looking forward to participating in more space themed activities throughout this half term.
