Another busy week in nursery!

This week we have continued to find out about worms and composting. We shared a non-fiction book about worms and we have learned that worms do not have eyes or teeth, they produce slime to help them move around in earth and they do not have a skeleton! We also found out that worms love eating compostable materials and like living in compost bins so we are definitely going to continue to compost. During our maths sessions we focused on counting and sorting. We have started looking at the pictures that are used in the Read Write Inc phonics scheme in preparation for transitioning to Reception in September. On the interactive white board this week we completed a worm themed jigsaw and made mini beast pictures of insects that are found in a compost bin like snails and spiders. On Friday we planted some sunflower seeds in our homemade compost and carefully put them into our greenhouse.
