Growing with Reception

This week the children in Ladybirds and Dragonflies brought their beanstalks back into school after looking after them at home all through April. After last seeing them as tiny seeds we were amazed to see some fantastically tall plants! Some of them were nearly as tall as us!! We talked about how we looked after our seeds and what we had done to help the plants to grow. We compared the sizes of our beanstalks and talked about the similarities and differences we could see.

Later in the week we prepared our outdoor planters and then planted the beanstalks outside, discussing why we needed to move them out of their plant pots.

We can’t wait to see them grow further and see how they change further.
