This half term in computing, Elms, Oaks and Beeches are learning about communication and collaboration between computers. This week’s lesson focussed on how data is transferred between computers. We learnt how the data is split into packets and transferred across routers. We learnt how the packets have information to help them find the correct destination in their header, like an address on an envelope. We also learnt that the data itself is called the data payload. The photographs below show us recreating a computer network and using the information in the packet header to send the data to the correct recipient.
