The children in Reception have been thoroughly engaged in a cross-curricular exploration of symmetry, doubling, and the life cycle of a butterfly. The children used paint to create beautiful symmetrical butterflies. In maths, they used butterfly templates and pom poms to practise doubling and exploring symmetry. Alongside this, the class has been observing the fascinating transformation of our caterpillars, learning about each stage of the butterfly life cycle with great enthusiasm. The caterpillars are now at the chrysalis stage and the children cannot wait for the transformation into butterflies!
