Transition and much more!

This week our children who are moving on to Reception in September spent two days in their new classrooms meeting their teachers and familiarising themselves with their surroundings. It was lovely to hear and see how happy the children had been and how impressed their new teachers were with them. The children who will remain in nursery in September examined a dried sunflower head from last year and helped remove the seeds. We planted one of the seeds to see if it will grow and put it on our window sill so that we can observe any growth each day. We shared the story, Ten Seeds by Ruth Brown both on the interactive white board and by reading the book. We used rain water to water our ever-expanding collection of tomato plants. On Wednesday we participated in Squiggle while you wiggle and Play dough Disco. On Thursday we spent our day outdoors. We checked the progress of one of our school apple trees and discovered that some of the apples are turning red. We planted some Cosmos plants into bigger pots and put them in our nursery yard. We also played some ring games on the field.
