This week, children in year 6 have had an amazing opportunity to visit Nissan in Sunderland. The day included learning about the history of Nissan including learning some Japanese phrases and traditions the company follow. They all signed a Daruma doll, which wishes them luck, to bring back to school. They then had a challenge to build a Nissan car out of Lego. The children enjoyed an activity, which replicated a production line, where they showed excellent team work and communication skills. Finally, in the afternoon they were lucky to visit the factory floor and see the robots. The robot cleverly drew some of the children pictures and wrote messages to them. Overall, it was a fantastic day, with many children now considering a career within engineering.
