Years 3 and 4 have been making themselves into computer networks! They learned all about connections and how this means a link between two or more people or things. In the case of a computer network, it is a link between two or more computers.
The children passed paper messages around their classroom. It was very chaotic at first, with no system in place to ensure people’s desks did not become overloaded. We then added in a switch, in the way that real computer networks do. The switch meant the message went straight from the sender to the recipient, without going through lots of other parts of the network.
