This week in Year 2, the children have been working hard on their time‑telling skills. We began by recapping o’clock and half past, making sure everyone felt confident with these familiar times.
We then moved on to learning quarter past and quarter to, using our mini clocks to help us practise moving the hands and spotting where the minute hand sits for each key time.
We also started to look at telling the time past the hour, using our counting‑in‑5s skills to help us read the minute hand more accurately. The children loved using the clocks to explore how the minute hand moves around the clock face!
