This week, children explored Where Fruit Comes From through the story Oliver’s Fruit Salad. They named a range of fruits, talked about taste using words like sweet and juicy, and confidently joined in food preparation. Children practised saying simple sentences such as “This is a fruit” and “I like it,” building early oracy skills. We linked the story to real life by talking about how fruit grows on plants and trees before it reaches the shop. It was wonderful to see children tasting fruit, sharing opinions, and growing in confidence through hands‑on learning.
