This week, Snowdrops are learning all about tenths and hundredths and how they are expressed as decimals.
The class have been using dienes and grid squares to represent values such as 0.1 and 0.01 in a concrete and pictorial way. They have then included the use of place-value charts for the written recording.
Our groups collaborated very well when they were discussing and building decimal amounts. Their questioning and explanations have been excellent and they have even unpicked some tricky decimal-based reasoning problems!
