Dear parents and carers,
We hope you’re all OK, and managing well with the effects of isolation. We know this can be tough on our children, particularly at this time of year when we’re missing doing many of our favourite things in school, as well as missing out on spending time with friends.
We also know that our children will inevitably be spending more time online as they get to grip with online learning.
I’ve attached some resources which you may find useful for supporting your child’s wellbeing and online safety. Please take the time to look at these as they do contain some useful advice.
For further advice about online safety, https://nationalonlinesafety.com/ has useful guides to lots of the apps, games and websites our children use.
The NSPCC website has advice on the effects of coronavirus on our children’s mental health https://www.nspcc.org.uk/keeping-children-safe/coronavirus-advice-suppport-children-families-parents/
These leaflets offer advice on online safety and mental health:
Mental Wellbeing during Lockdown
Remote Learning Child Safety Guide
Supporting your child’s mental health leaflet
For any issues relating to online learning, please contact windyrl@gatedu.org, or if we can offer support in any other way you can always contact the school office in the usual ways.
