Dear Parents / Carers
We look forward to welcoming all children back on site on 8th March. We would ask that parents continue to wear masks on the school premises, unless exempt, and continue to operate social distancing measures. The one – way system around school will continue as will the staggered start and end times.
We will expect children to wear school uniform, except on their PE days where they can come to school in PE kit. However, please do not feel the need to rush out and buy new school uniform if your child has outgrown their current uniforms. We are happy for the children to wear trainers instead of school shoes for the remainder of this term, particularly as we are going to have an increased focus on physical well-being and learning outside. Due to ventilation requirements, the classes do have to have internal doors and windows open so sending in extra layers for the children on cold days can be useful.
The children do not need to bring any equipment to school, although the water fountains are still out of use so a water bottle would be useful. The school kitchen will continue to provide hot meals for those children who require them – please pay via SIMSpay on a Monday morning. School lunches are £12.50 per week. We would like to remind parents about the importance of sending in a healthy packed lunch – please refer to our food policy which states ‘Windy Nook Primary does not allow sweets, chocolates bars (although we do allow chocolate covered biscuits) fizzy drinks or nuts as part of packed lunches.’ Please be aware we have a small number of children in school who have peanut and other nut allergies, so it is vital you do not send nuts or products containing nuts into school.
Start and end times from 8th March. Please make sure that your child arrives at school on time so that lessons can start punctually and that your child is collected on time at the end of the school day.

The Local Authority have employed a new school crossing patrol who will be in place from Tuesday 9th March. Please be mindful of where you park, as the front of school will continue to be cordoned off for the safety of the pupils in school.
If you or anyone in your household displays any COVID symptoms your whole household must remain at home and not go to work, school or public areas. You should arrange testing for the person who has developed symptoms. Please let the school know as soon as possible. When the result is known further advice will be available.
Testing can be arranged by calling 119 or via the NHS website: nhs.uk/coronavirus
We will continue to update you with any changes to procedures, but in the meantime if you have any questions please do not hesitate to get in touch.
Many Thanks
Lucie Forrest
