Living Streets Walk to School Badges

Last month our school signed up for a walking to school initiative with Living Streets. As well as our main walking bus event, the children have also been tracking how they travel to school each day. The more active travel the children do, the closer they get to their monthly badges. In May we recorded over 3000 active trips across the school! This meant that 168 children across the school did enough active travel within the month of May to earn their WOW badge. Active travel can be walking to school, taking a scooter or bike, ‘park and stride’ or hop off to school. Park and stride involves parking your car further away from school e.g. at the Fiddlers and walking along. Hop off to school is when you hop off a stop early on public transport to walk that bit further.

We are continuing to track our travel through June and July and would love to see more children earn their badges for this month!
