Good morning Owls,

Login to Google classroom to view today’s tasks. Live meets will be at 9:30am and 10:30am.

Todays learning is as follows:

Phonics:Our sound today is ‘tion’.

1. Watch the video to learn todays sound.

At the end can you hold a sentence – I went to the fire station.

2. Play picnic on pluto on the phonics play website. Select phase 4 or 5.

3. Perhaps you could read some of your reading book if you have it at home or use the Oxford Owl link below to find a book you would like to read from your book colour band.

4. Lastly why not use our finger fitness video and get your fingers warmed up for writing today.

English – Spellings – Can you complete a spellings test at home? Ask your grown up to say each spelling and see if you can write them all down correctly.

Main – Can I listen and respond to a poem?

Read today’s seaside poem from the link below. ‘My Magic Shell’ poem. Do you have any shells at home? If so go and take a look at them. (If not can you find some photos of shells online.) Compare the shells looking at how they are the same and different. What do they look and feel like?
Take another look at the poem. Can you see any lines in the poem that describes your shell?

Task – Can you remember last week when we watched the video of ‘Austin’s butterfly’ and then drew sketches in our art books. Today we are going to repeat that activity but with your shell. Can you get a piece of paper that is folded into 4 sections. Look at your shell and make your first attempt to draw it. Then compare your sketch to the actual shell. Can you think about how you can improve your next attempt. Repeat until all 4 sketches of the shell have been made. Can you see improvements each time?

Maths: Starter – Times table Test
Can you answer the following 6 times table questions from our 2, 5 and 10 times tables.

Can I compare time?

This week we have been looking at time. We have used time language such as  seconds, minutes and
hour. Can you remember which one is the longest? How do you know? Watch the video link to recap on this week’s learning.

There are more words that we can use when describing time such as faster, earlier and later. Can you tell your grown up what they mean? What does it mean if I say someone was earlier than
someone else?

Task –
Can you click on the sheet below. Ask your grown up read each time related question and see if you can use your reasoning and problem solving skills to answer them.

Extension – How about singing along to the time song. Then play the Hickory Dickory game.
