The last two weeks in year 5, we have been learning about Shakespeare and in particular his play, Macbeth. We were looking at the first 2 acts and began the topic by exploring the story and getting to know the characters. As children got more confident with the storyline, we began to focus on character descriptions (including some of our grammar knowledge to write relative and subordinate clauses). After writing amazing narratives for the first 2 acts, the children were able to put their drama skills to use and have a go at re-enacting scenes. The performances were great and the children loved acting and watching some brilliant shows.
