In English lessons, the children in Bluebells have been reading The Day the Crayons Quit by Drew Daywalt and Oliver Jeffers. They have been learning about and practicing using the features of persuasive letters. Yesterday, after break time, the children came back into the classroom to find their chairs had quit! The chairs left the children a letter explaining why they were on strike and asked for a letter in return. The children then planned ideas for a persuasive letter asking the chairs to come back. They will write the final versions of their letters on Friday. While the children had lots of fun, they realised how tricky it is without their chair!
