Welcome to Owls
Hi and welcome to Owls. Our teacher is Mrs Short.
In Owls we love to have fun and learn lots of new and exciting things. We always try our best in everything we do.
Is every Friday. Please make sure your child has a full P.E. kit; a white t-shirt, black shorts trainers/plimsolls with their name on.
Home Reading Books
Your child’s book will be changed every Thursday.
Reading books are changed by the child with guidance from teaching staff. Each child is expected to read regularly at home (at least 3 times per week).
Maths and English Homework
This will be given out every Thursday to be returned to be returned on Monday. It will alternate – one-week Maths the following week English.
This will be given out on a Thursday to be returned the following Thursday.
Your child will receive new spellings on a Friday to be tested the following Friday.
In Owls we encourage the children to be as independent as possible. It is their responsibility to ensure they take their books and homework out of their bags and place them into the correct baskets. If your child does not complete or return their homework they will miss their Golden Time reward on a Friday afternoon.

In Key Stage One we had an absolutely amazing morning doing our School Games Day. We paraded around the yard waving our banners and flags. Nursery and Reception opened our Games with a dance and then we all joined in. After that we were put into teams and competed in...
This morning Key Stage One had a Science workshop with Mike. The workshop was all about friction. Mike talked to them about friction and got them to investigate friction using exercise books. The children had a lot of fun and thought it was magic!!!
I am so proud of everyone in Owls this half term for achieving 100% attendance. We celebrated with some juice and biscuits. Well done from Mrs Short :0
We had so much fun inviting our adults into school to help us create some amazing dinosaur models. Who would of thought that you could make some realistic dinosaurs from junk material.
Year 2 have been collecting and interpreting data this week during their maths lessons. Yesterday they spent the lesson recording the colours of smarties in a tube on tally charts and graphs. At the end of the lesson all of the smarties had vanished!
The children have had great fun in maths learning all about capacity. They began be estimating how many 100ml cups different containers would hold then estimating how many ml's each container held. They even began to measure in litres.
The children have been using their ICT skills to create a dinosaur poster. They have had great fun learning how to log on, locate programs, use a tool bar, insert word art and text boxes, save and retrieve.

Linking with our topic dinosaurs the children completed a sorting activity of what kind of eaters different dinosaurs were. To help them sort the dinosaurs they used a Venn diagram. This helped show carnivores, herbivores and omnivores. Which eater are ?
