This week the year 5 children have enjoyed exploring poems which are written to be performed. A particular favourite was Walking with my Iguana by Brian Moses! We looked at different language features found in these poems such as onomatopoeia, rhyme, rhythm, language play and humour. At the end of the week, groups performed their favourite poems to the rest of the class and were given positive feedback on their performances.
Ask us what effective features of poetry we have learnt!
