This week, the six classes of Key Stage 2 enjoyed a workshop from Cycle Generation. Jayne taught us all about road racing, the four main European tours and let us into many secrets of bike design.
Using problem-solving skills, we had to decide which bikes were best suited to different types of racing. We also got to act out bike-race scenarios – even learning terms such as ‘domestique’ and ‘peloton.’
At the end of the session, our knowledge was tested by a game of bike bingo!
A big thank you goes to Jayne from Cycle Generation; it was a great opportunity for us to learn more about bicycle racing, after the Tour of Britain came to Gateshead!
