Celebrating 30 Years of UNICEF

Some of our Rights Respecter School Councilors  joined lots of Gateshead Primary Schools to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of UNICEF. The children met with lots of different people and found out how they respect and support the rights of the child within our local community. One of the police officers we met attended Windy Nook Primary School when he was young. The children explored their own rights and feelings and theirs duty and the duties and responsibilities that come with their rights. After lunch the children made banners and paraded across the Millennium Bridge, where we gathered to sing the Rights Respecting Song. We were very excited because the ITV local news film crew filmed the event. Check out the local new this evening. At the end of an amazing day there was time to go up to the viewing gallery and check out the amazing views of Gateshead and Newcastle. A huge thanks to all who helped organise the event and make it such a fantastic day!
