Yesterday, Year 6 began a series of music lessons about Samba! We have learned the names of the different instruments such as: Ganza, Tamborim, Surdo and Agogo and even tried playing them as well. Just after half term we will be performing to the entire school, so watch out for more posts and video clips.
Samba is a Brazilian music style of infectious rhythm and complex origins. It developed as urban music in the late 19th and early 20th centuries in the favelas of Rio de Janeiro.
