The children helped clean the stick insect tank out today. They helped prepare the tank, giving the stick insects lots of freshly cut ivy. The children were very curious about the stick insects and they were keen to take a look close up. The children conquered their fears and everyone held a stick insect. Some children were very keen and allowed the stick insects to crawl up their arms. The children were also very helpful setting up a nursery for our 6 newly hatched stick insects. The children watched a short clip which told them lots of information about stick insects and how they live in the wild. The children then went on to make their own stick insect tanks and some fabulous pipe cleaner stick insects too!
