Ladybirds enjoying Autumn and Halloween

What a week the Ladybirds have had. So much fun and learning. They have enjoyed being outside on a walk around the school grounds exploring signs of autumn. They looked at the different colours of the leaves that had fallen, how the trees looked bare, berries on the holly trees and also how the weather has been changing – cold and damp. With it being Halloween, they have especially enjoyed reading the story Room on the Broom. The children were introduced to ordinal numbers where they ordered the characters from the story on a broomstick. Their letter formation and writing has been fabulous writing words such as cat, pot, web and log and counting ingredients to put into the cauldrons to make spooky spells with. They have been very creative making magic wands to make spells with, monster hats, spooky spiders and creating scary monster pictures.

To finish the fun packed week off we had a little spooky disco in class with some brilliant dance moves!
