We usually offer Family Learning courses at school; however, due to the current pandemic Family Learning have been unable to work with the parents and carers of children in our school and local area. The Family Learning team at Gateshead Council have developed a range of on-line courses that can be completed on-line at home. The courses aim to empower parents and carers to support their children at home and reinforce the skills they have learned at school. Many of the courses are an introduction or stepping stone to an accredited qualification and employment.
Many parents and carers have found these courses exceptionally useful in supporting their children’s learning, particularly in English and Maths. If any parents/ carers are interested in taking up these opportunities and would like support to get set up, just let us know at windyrl@gatedu.org and we will do our best to help.
