Well what a week of super work from our home learners in Reception. In phonics they have been revisiting the sounds or, air, ir, ou and oy. The children have produced some amazing caption sentences including words with the revisited sounds as well as including some red words. Literacy lessons looked at Mr Wolf’s Pancakes and The Running Away Pancake. They enjoyed learning Mr Wolf’s Pancake poem, helping Mr Wolf write his shopping list as well as making their own pancakes with some scrumptious toppings. Numeracy saw the children learn all about ordinal position. Mr Wolf and the other characters from the story held races and the children needed to work out what ordinal position they were, looking at finding the total and altogether using addition as well as sharing pancakes into equal groups.
