Dear parents and carers,
On the 9th of March Windy Nook will be participating in the Virtual Torch Relay. This is an event ran by the Gateshead School Sports Partnership and has been launched to celebrate the upcoming Tokyo Olympics. The torch has travelled round a number of schools in Gateshead and will arrive at Windy Nook on the 9th of March.
Children will be doing various activities linked to the Olympics to celebrate this day. We have given each class an Olympic country and asked that children come to school dressed in the colours of their country’s flag on Tuesday 9th March. I have attached the list of classes and countries below so you can see what colours your child can wear. Please do not buy anything new, if you do not own one of the colours in the flag don’t worry, something like a hair bobble or hat could contribute to a colour.
Nursey- Germany (red, yellow and black)
Dragonflies- France (Red, white and blue)
Ladybirds- South Africa (Red, blue, green, black)
Robins- Argentina (Blue and white)
Owls- Japan (Red and white)
Bees- Jamaica (Green, yellow and black)
Nightingales- Egypt (Red, white and black)
Bluebells- India (Orange, white and green)
Snowdrops- Italy (Green, white and red)
Tulips- Australia (Red, white and blue)
Elms- Nigeria (Green and white)
Oaks- Sweden (Yellow and blue)
Beeches- Spain (Red and yellow)
We look forward to having you back in school and seeing your outfits!
Regards,
Miss Crowe
